Welcome to the official website of actor and filmmaker Derek Wayne Johnson!

February 5, 2009
This month could be one of the most important months for the future of the InnocentÕs Way
project. On February 18th, AJ16 Entertainment and GeoLand Films are hosting an investors seminar for the film at the Robinson Film Center in Shreveport. The producers would like to thank all of the potential investors for accepting the invitation. If you would like to know more about this seminar, please contact Derek. Please pray that it will have a great turn out so this film can get made this year! The producers are working every day on every aspect of the pre-production to ensure the filmÕs success. The feature film Defending Dr. Karl, formerly known as Boondoggle: The Movie, will pick back up this month and will be released later this year. (Yes, the title has been changed, J) Derek recently played the lead role in the indie film The Last Home Movie, which will also be released later this year. Keep checking in, and thanks!

It is definitely going to be a big year for Derek in 2009, as the release of several of his films will be soon. The CBS/Hallmark movie Front of the Class
was a success and if you missed it, you can see Derek play the supporting role of the TouretteÕs Group Leader when the DVD is released sometime between January and March.  Derek had the honor of attending the premiere in Beverly Hills last month, and is pleased to call the entire cast and crew his friends, especially the ÒrealÓ Brad Cohen, who is an incredible inspiration. Filming for Boondoggle will wrap in February and will be released later in the year. The Brad Maule film All Good Years, formally known as Billy Stay will premiere in March. Derek and his production company AJ16 Entertainment are still working on producing his feature film Innocent's Way, and will hopefully shoot this summer. A documentary entitled InnocentÕs Way: A Saga in the Making is now complete, detailing the beginning of what is to be DerekÕs biggest movie to date. An investors seminar will be February 18th in Shreveport. Be sure to check out the promotional preview at www.innocentsway.com or on DerekÕs media page. More acting roles and more films by Derek are on the way!

Working hard as both an actor and filmmaker, Derek has been extremely busy over the past few months, and is only getting busier. He recently acted in the upcoming  feature films I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell
and Billy Stay, along with a few smaller projects such as Vampyre Majick, the Chicken Salad promotional preview, in which he also directed, and a commercial for the Robinson Film Center. This month, Derek will play a small supporting role as a man with Tourette Syndrome in the CBS/Hallmark made for TV movie Front of the Class, which will air in 2009. He is also hard at work on pre-production for the feature film Boondoggle: The Movie, in which he will play the lead role and direct. Derek and his production company AJ16 Entertainment are still working on producing his feature film Innocent's Way, and will hopefully shoot in 2009.

The road to getting your own films made the way you want is a tough one, and in the meantime it is always good to work on other productions. Derek is doing just that. He just booked a small speaking role in the upcoming film I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell,
based on the NY Times bestselling novel by Tucker Max. Derek will play a small role along side the main characters, with filming beginning this month. The movie is set for release in 2009. Be sure to check out the book, but be warned, it is not for youngsters. Derek is also gearing up to shoot some small productions soon, all the while starting on his next script and possibly the Innocent's Way novel. As for the Innocent's Way film project and other features Derek is working on, they are coming along smoothly and at great speed. Filming recently wrapped on first time director Brad Maule's film, (title pending), in which Derek played the lead role of Dusty. Also starring in the film are Rachael Magill as Carla, Dusty's wife, Tristan Johnson as Billy, their son, and Brad Maule as Orson, Dusty's father. This film is also set for release in 2009.

While working constantly on producing Innocent's Way
and several other films, auditioning, working on sets, teaching workshops, writing, directing, and acting, Derek will be playing the small role of a Reporter in the upcoming feature film Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, starring Michael Douglas, Jesse Metcalf, and Amber Tamblyn this month. The film is to be released in 2009.
